    • FACILEX (Facilitating mutual recognition: Analytics and Capacity building Information LEgal eXplainable tool to strengthen cooperation in the criminal matter). The project focuses on judicial cooperation in criminal matters and mutual recognition models in the EU. There is a gap between EU law and national law, since standards of protection may not have the same substantial meaning in EU law and in domestic jurisdictions. Thanks to a multidisciplinary research team in criminal law, IT, and legal informatics, FACILEX aims to fill this gap by tailoring legal knowledge to achieve accurate decision-making. A platform will be developed that will offer access to relevant EU and national legislation and case law, and that will provide automated advice to legal practitioners on concrete judicial cooperation scenarios.

Total Budget: € 2720 funded by the Sectorplan of Digital Legal Lab, Netherlands to organize this event on 13th September 2022. The funding covered the organizational costs, travel, and accommodation costs of the invited speakers in the panel. More information about the event and its outcomes here.
